I would really like one for ds room, but he has a midsleeper, I have bought him a globe for christmas that doubles up as a lamp.

could you fix a shelf to the wall by the bed?
Or get a tall, slim chest of drawers?

Could you get something like this (not necessarily this one, just those sorts of proportions), or alternatively put up a shelf next to his bed at the right height? Depends how big the globe is, I guess as to whether you can fit it on a shelf? Or a wall-mounted table if it's not too big?

A shelf is no good, as it is where the window is, he is in a box room, and no other way of fitting the furniture in, those chest of 6 drawers look good, and would come in handy for storage, if only it was cheaper.
