Does anyone have any great ideas for a luxurious baby gift ? Friend has just gone into hospital and they sent us white company bits so want to send something equally lovely !!

Must be postable as they are overseas (but expats so post goes to a UK address so doesn't have to be light !) ......

You can't beat Brora stuff (although if they live somewhere hot maybe not the hat!)

brora cashmere

You can have them gift wrap it too.

that looks lovely Katierocket - thanks - but they do live somewhere VERY hot so not sure it would be suitable - I shall remember it though for another time....

How about a comforter of some sort - My DS loves his Taggie , but someone linked to these Noonoo comfort blankets the other day, and they look gorgeous (have to scroll down a bit).

How about one of those bouquets made from baby clothes?

SoupDragon · 12/10/2006 10:02

this place from the MN webguide has them amongst other stuff.

thanks - a comforter is a good idea as they sent dd hers (imagine my horror when she 'took' to the white bunny from the white company.... )

The bouquets are great - I have sent them a couple of times, but wasn't sure how well they'd be packaged when they had to go on a long journey. I might call someone I sent it to and ask them ! I think another company that does them does comforters too so it could be a two in one pressie !!

Any other ideas welcome - am still waiting word of baby being born so have a bit of time.

How about some designer baby clothing? House of Fraser stock quite a bit like Ralph Lauren, Kenzo etc

wheelybug · 12/10/2006 10:10

thats another good idea thanks - although most of clothes out now are winter clothes which wouldn't suit....mind you, might be able to find some in the sale !!

You've just reminded me I need to reply to your email.... will do so now....

Not sure where you are, wheelybug, but Bicester Village shopping outlet has lots of designer children's clothes at good prices.

wheelybug · 12/10/2006 10:25

a little bit too far - but from your link I see there are loads more shops than last time I went .... so I am tempted... mind you, probably wouldn't come home with any baby gifts jsut things for meeeee !!

Lots of lovely stuff, though you never know exactly what will be theres, so it's a bit of pot luck. Good luck - hope you find something.
