I've found a few cot/mattress sets but the mattress is always crap (IMO anyway).

I found a cheap cot in Ikea, but the mattress that fit from there aren't very nice and it's a small cot so will probably be uselss within months..

I found a decent size cot but the amtress is ££££££

I can't find a decent size cot and good mattress that costs under £100.

Free adds/local paper never have any 2nd hand cots.

Good god in heaven....somebody help me!!!

when do you need it for LTH?

hoxtonchick · 11/10/2006 13:13

would you like ours?

LadyTophamHatt · 11/10/2006 13:13

really, please have ours. it's a chicco one (i think, can't be arsed to go upstairs & check). pale wood, with 3 big beads at the end. the mattress is a v posh mothercare one with a zip off cover for when they puke on it.

i got the cot second hand, but neither ds or dd slept in it much.... the mattress was brand new for ds.

we're in london, please come & collect it!

hoxtonchick · 11/10/2006 13:16

actually, i'm so desperate to get rid that you could pay for parcelforce to pick it up....

LadyTophamHatt · 11/10/2006 13:18

oh....how much would parcel force be HC?

In true paranoid mother mode, I'll buy a new mattress though....hope thats o.k.

(sorry, have no idea how to find out about parcel force)

hoxtonchick · 11/10/2006 13:20

not sure, but bound to be cheaper than buying anything.

understand about the mattress, i'd do the same .

TwigTwoolett · 11/10/2006 13:22

was going to offer you ours too but think DD might still be in it in Jan

for parcelforce .. go to Royal Mail site and you can get an estimate .. I sent a sink which weighed 20K to Manchester for £25 or so (I think) .. not too expensive

LadyTophamHatt · 11/10/2006 13:24

Ok....will try and find out about parcelforce.
Do you still have instructions for it?

Somehow find it hard to imagine it being loaded onto a lorry already built.

I suppose they'd need to know how heavy it is....

OP posts:
hoxtonchick · 11/10/2006 13:25

no instructions.... but dp isn't very technically minded & put it all together without too much swearing.

not sure how much it weighs though. maybe 10kg?

LadyTophamHatt · 11/10/2006 13:34

Just on the parcelforce site and I've put in a random postcode for london to my postcode at 10 KG and it's saying £15!!

WOW!! I thought it would be loads more than that.

I have no idea what we'd need to do though to sort it all out..LOL
I'll go to the post office tomorrow and ask there. I'll CAT you now it get the finer details of where in london you are and stuff.

try parcels2go to get the cot delivered, they do up to a certain weight and size for under £12 I think. I sent a very large ladies bike with them and that went fine, so I imagine they would take a cot.
For the matress, try ebay. I got the dts mattresses from there, I think we paid about £40 each for new sprung mattresses.

LadyTophamHatt · 11/10/2006 13:36

Sorry, Twig.
I started a "thanks anyway" post and got sidetracked but ds3 and parcelforce.

Won't you be needing it for when you change you mind about No3 though??

OP posts:
hoxtonchick · 11/10/2006 14:12

cool. will await the cat .

TwigTwoolett · 11/10/2006 15:10

bet you could wrap it in bubble wrap and send it built .. check maximum dimensions on the site

hoxtonchick · 11/10/2006 15:25

i was just thinking, how on earth will i wrap it....?

LadyTophamHatt · 11/10/2006 16:07

I'd want it gift wrappen with a alot of ribbons and bows and oodles TLC HC....

I have no idea TBH, I'll find out as much as I can atthe post office tomoorw. Has the CAT arrived yet?
