We have these for our 2 ds's but all reviews seem to say thatthey are dangerous so should I believe it all and invest in new ones or just keep them - have had them for couple of years and seem good?

I have these in buttefly /pink and bought them two fr my dd3 and dd2 they are 3 and 5
recently why do they say they are dangerous the girl recommended them over the m/c ones?

i used that one for my son up until 3 months ago - whats the problme with tnem?

LIZS · 08/10/2006 10:51

It was in a Which? survey - 2005 one I think. They must pass the basic safety regs though and are better than none.

i have a similar one from Argos, i bought it 2yrs ago because it had side impact, i think its because they say its safer to use a proper car seat with straps until they are 4yrs old so i think thats why the reviews are not so good on the high back boosters compared to actual seats up to 4yrs, but they still have passed all the regulations

they are very dangerouse if you are in a crash and dont proteft children properly in a bad crash

swap them for a maxi cosi rodi, britax highliner or britax evolva BEFORE you are in a crash... so BEFORE your children are seriously hurt.

It makes me SOOOOO cross that these companies can continue manufacturing and selling dangerouse car seats

i have the Britax hi - liner h for Ds. we took a neighbour to the shops tcar0he other day and 1
so they put thei childs car seat in theback for her, it was one of those graco ones...it did nothing but slip around in the back, and it just didn't seem as bulky or secure as ds's.

i think the graco one must pass basic safety regs in order to be sold so it will be better than nothing, but if you can afford a new one then it is probably worth it

Is the report online?

NannyL · 08/10/2006 16:18

the reposrt IS online but i can never work out how to view it.... if you do to the which website you need to be a member nd have your subscriber number etc to view the report...

BUT there is a site with a link to it... which has been linked on here a few times!

Trust me, the graco one scores VERY badly in a crash and its in the NOT recommended section where there only put really bad seats!

the britax highliner is being sold alot for £40 now, which is surely worth every penny if it means the child survives death or seriouse injury in a crash
