And is it any good? Not really sure what we are buying but I really like the colour of one of theirs, and you get a better overall picture of what it will look like in the room as they use it in their stores.

Our good friends have it and are very happy. I also think that the colour is fab too- oak I think! I would reccomend on thrie behalf. Our is from Homebase and I hate it with a passion. Looks shit and squeaks and crackles making it impossible to sneak about!! On day I'm gonna get really mad and rip it out. Only other advice I have is to make sure it is properly installed.

I have just had some laid, and it looks and feels lovely. We chose their more pricey one, but it still cost £150 with underlay for a very big room. It is a dark effect antique finish and looks nice. Doesnt make any noise either!

Is it easy to lay this stuff yourself?

I need my hall re-done and thought the Ikea stuff looked good for the price.

poppyh · 09/10/2006 11:16

its quite hard to lay. My dh attempted it, but as always, ikea instructions are a bit vaque, so we got someone else to do it.

HuwEdwards · 09/10/2006 11:18

yes we have - my DP laid it - very easy, if a bit tiring.
