I drive a V40, but that's not much help is it?

Very happy with it though, if you want a general consensus on Volvo estates. I might get a V50 next. (one day, in the distant future )

I drive V70. Had V40, S40, S80 before and I wouldn't swap my V70 for anything. Well maybe for a V70 Cross Country now that the boys are older and insist on mountaineering. It is god sent for holidays. We even brought a chandalier from France after two week hoiliday on top of travel cot and a buggy. I don't know what the price difference is but I would get the bigger one if you can. Plus mine has two booster seats in the boot. Perefct for picking up up to 5 kids.

If y6ou don't plan to drive long distance I would get a diesel. Mine uses lots of petrol. And get leather seats if you can afford them and have young children.

Thanks, CF and LM, anyone else? Don't really need the boot seats, as only have 1 dd, and 18 yr old step son. Think the estate would be useful for uni runs, but if we had the boot seats, think dd would insist on sitting in one all the time, and like her to be where I can see her (and don't think they're as safe as the middle seats in a rear collision).

Regret getting this car. It is a fuel-guzzler and is totally unmaneuvreable, like turning a tank. Our Passat Estate had a much better turning circle and was a smoother ride.

hmm, fuel guzzler? Can't be any worse than my petrol Freelander! Do you have petrol or diesel TDW?

V40 here so not much help. Dull, dependable and does what it says on the tin (am still upset at losing our AudiA3 but it wasn't as practical). Love the heated seats, though.

yes, am seriously tempted by the heated seats
