Pure Oasis Digital Weatherproof radio - Urgent Safety Recall

HI,

Just to let you know that if any of you have this radio, there is a recall on it. My sister just called to tell me not to use it straight away, it is a dangerous matter apparently.

I saw this in the paper the other day too. I'm gutted - I love my DAB radio! Have you had your return details through yet, hockeymum? I wonder when we'll get them back? It'll take ages I expect as they've recalled every single one .

bamboo - I haven't even had a return email from them yet! and I can't get through on the phone. I'm going to be gutted without mine. It's really annoying that I'll be without it and they'll have my money iykwim. I mean, so they not realise I can't bear the monotony of washing bottles and pureeing baby food without XFM! How very dare they!

We have the Chronos, fab thing.

I got through on the phone and they said they'd send me details by post of what to do next - but I've had nothing yet. In the meantime, it's sat on the stairs unused directly under the smoke alarm!

They called me back today and said they would send me a letter within 10 days about what to do next.

Bamboo do I need to put it under my smoke alarm? What's the suspected problem with it?

no, apparently they are going to mend them - I imagine that will take ages as there are so many to do. Personally I'd prefer a new one!

I'm on an ecomony drive which includes not buying any papers (only getting the daily ferebies at London stations) Hadn't seen this at all

Sorry hockeymum - didn't mean to worry you - I was being a bit flippant - though it is by the smoke alarm, this wasn't on Pure's recommendations. But it does state a serious safety issue with the internal battery so I assume it's something like the problems with Apple and Dell computers recently - they were overheating. However, since we're not using the radio I would think any problems would be highly unlikely.

Hey hockeymum, I got my return details through today - they've enclosed a prepaid postage label and a phone no of a courier who will collect. They say they'll have it returned in 7 working days which is a lot quicker than I thought.

I just need to find the box - I kept it as the first one we had was faulty so had to be returned. a pattern developing here!
