Do you have a vented kitchen extractor thing?

We got one ... and I have a couple of questions about it. First, it makes banging noise in the wind. And second, when it rains, water comes down it onto our hob . I'm assuming these are both unusual things?

Ours makes a banging noise in the wind but doesn't rain indoors.

Ah, right, ok, maybe the banging noise is ok then. I don't mind the banging noise, but I do mind having to mop water up off the hob after every rain.
