I'm about to move into an area which involves me walking (with babes) 15/20 mins to the nearest train in the mornings. Most of the strollers/pushchairs which I've seen only go a max weight of 16kg and I need one until he can cope with the walk. HELP THE LEGS!!

That's so wierd, I've never seen/heard of a weight restriction for strollers! Most descriptions say 'up to 4 yrs' etc. My 3 year old has been over 16kg for at least 9 months and we haven't destroyed the strollers yet (use a Graco Citisport and a MacLaren Daytripper).

My partner's son by his first marriage was huge as a toddler, and at 4 he was the height/weight of an 'average' 8 year old. He needed a stoller for the long walk to pre-school and they used the cheapo one from Argos (sorry LCJ - don't know if you're in the UK)! I'd recommend asking advice at you local baby/nursery shop and finding something that's comfortable for him to sit in and for you to push. Check them out at the shop and buy online for less!

We have the same trouble with ds who is 2. In the end we got a second-hand Mamas & Papas as it looked the sturdiest. So far so good. Ds has already been through two of the flimsier strollers so we felt we had to go for something a bit stronger looking. We also found one in Spain the make of which escapes me but if you are in Spain then I will certainly look for you. Happy hunting.
