So, it looks like we need a new car....

With DD + #2 on the way and a big dog (weimaraner), my Skoda Octavia hatchback is getting a bit....cramped. I can't fit the dog and pushchair in the boot, so the pushchair has to go on the back seat next to DD.

DD is 11.5mo, so when #2 arrives (April) will still be in the pushchair for dog walks so will still have the pushchair but not sure yet as to whether I'm going to push & sling or get a double chair.

Sooooo.....I'm looking for an economical (ha!) large car. Does such a thing exist? Or recommendations? DP is looking at a Toyota Verso or VW Touran at the moment - opinions? The Touran boot doesn't look much bigger than the Skoda's tbh (in pictures, we haven't actually gone to look at any yet) but of course it doesn't have the slopey roof. And I keep calling it the Toerag [child].

Thank you!

I have a Vauxhall Insignia ( not very trendy, I know), but the four of us would fit in the boot, it's huge. Neighbour across the road call it a hearse ( it's black)

The boot in the Toyota Verso isn't very big at all, and because it has two seats that pull up from the boot floor the floor of the boot seems quite 'high up' if you see what I mean.

My mum and dad have one, it's fine for them and the extra seats come in handy for grandchildren but I don't think an adult would be that comfy back there (and you'd have to slide the middle row forward, losing leg space there too).

They used to have a Mazda 6, which had a massive boot - my dad still misses that car, it was my mum who insisted they needed a new one!
