I know I do not need anyone to tell me save my dosh and shop elsewhere so p
I have a buy 4 got 5th item for £1 offer.
Only can include in stock items, which is a bit of a bastard as 3 of the things I wanted are not in stock yet.
DD is in size 2-3y
What can anyone recommend from anything they have bought this season?
I know I'm shallow and I'm also really bored
DP has agreed that as it is dd's birthday and I've saved dosh this month I cna blow it however I choose, and this is how I choose
But I cannot choose

Buy something in a bigger size to save for next year?

SecondhandRose · 29/09/2006 11:29

I have the same dilemma, DS has chosen 3 things, DD needs to choose two. Sad aren't we?

Piffle · 29/09/2006 11:31

Jackie but then I would deny myself shopping from next years catalogue
I'm pregnant so cannot buy anything for me
DP hates the clothes, mostly as he is too errr "plump" for them.
DS is not interested as he is a cool teenager who lives in black cargoes and Abercrombie and Fitch t shirts...

Funny you should write this, as I got their catalogue today and was wondering whether I should take up the offer or not. Have already bought dd some things from them a couple of months ago, so feel quite bad for now wanting to buy four more. Very tempting and know I will prob.give in.
I can recommend the sweater(pg.29, velvet trim baggies-fab(pg.62), t-shirt dress(got 2-3, but is too big for her at the moment as she is tiny) and lined cord baggies(pg.42) - love all the stuff I bought and so does dd. Am very tempted by lots of other things.

lucykate · 29/09/2006 12:38

hi piffle, i've been toying with taking up this offer too but am in a bit of a quandry about it, now dd is at school she doesn't need as many normal clothes anymore so was going to get ds one of those fleecy tops as he's now out in the pushchair more doing the school run with us but there still isn't 4 things that i like enough to buy. not very impressed with this seasons catalogue, not one of their best.

don't suppose you know what sex your new baby is do you?, in order to buy something for him/her. or get something for you that you can keep and look forward to wearing after the baby is born?

BlueBeetle · 29/09/2006 12:41

I wouldn't have this problem as I love all the stuff for girls ! Just ordered my five items yesterday for dd's birthday !

You could always get something at random and sell it on ebay - you'de be sure to get more for it than you paid (£1) - or get something as a present for a friend - or could you team up with a friend to place an order and share the spoils ?

ledodgyrobespierre · 29/09/2006 12:58

my dd has this top and it looks lovely

gegs73 · 29/09/2006 12:58

I'm quite tempted too for ds, some of the stuff is lovely.

If its not in stock, I too would buy her something for next year in a bigger size.

By the way, does anyone tell me how big the sizes come up? DS is a tall 2.4 yo any idea if age 2-3 would fit him? I've only ever bought summer shorts before and the length didn't matter.

Mala · 29/09/2006 13:05

gegs73 - My dd is 98cm and the 2-3 fit her just fine, it does have a very small amount for her to grow into. How tall is your ds? If he is 98cm or shorter the 2-3 should be fine.

ChiefSuptGobbledigook · 29/09/2006 13:09

God i could seriously go to town on girls clothing in BOden. Boys stuff is great too and I buy qutie a bit, but the girls stuff is just fabbo. Almost anythign you buy will be gorgeous and good quality.

cupcakes · 29/09/2006 13:12

I'm sure the internet will let you use the offer to order items which are out of stock - I've currently got two items in my basket which have a long wait on them but the discount is still showing.

gegs73 · 29/09/2006 13:12

Thanks Mala - I think he is about 97cm so should be fine then. Let the shopping commence

Pollyanna · 29/09/2006 13:14

I am risking waiting for the sale this year - lots of things are already out of stock until christmas. (bit risky though I know). I think the fleece lined anorak looks good - I have those from previous years and they get loads of use.

cupcakes · 29/09/2006 13:15

Make sure that you wouldn't actually make a better saving by using one of the 15% off codes (which also give you free postage).
I think these two are valid:
G241
G252

also by using these codes if you have to return one item you don't have to forfeit the saving.

Piffle · 29/09/2006 13:23

the offer says items must be in stock
DD is short legged, tiny waisted and very petite with a long torso
Very difficult to shop for
she is about 94 cms which plonks her right in between 18-24m trousers and 2-3 so am getting 2-3 trews with drawstrings
I love their cropped baggies but only the blue floral ones.
Also like the brushed cotton cargo baggies
And one everyday cardigan
After that am stumped
Could easily buy 3-4 cheaper t shirt tops BUT am loathe to waste an offer on something cheaper IYKWIM
God I'm tight

Piffle · 29/09/2006 13:25

I normall get a £10 off £30 spend and break my order up and re use (naughtily) it again and again to save dosh...
But dd needs some trousers now...

OP posts:
cupcakes · 29/09/2006 13:54

The offer may say that but the internet site still seems to let you use it on out of stock items.
If I was using the offer I would order out of stock things.
Trousers I like:
funky jeans - I bought dd these in denim and they are gorgeous. Am thinking about getting her some in cord.
knee patch cords - in blue
techno lined trousers - had these last year and they were really good. Will hopefully get some in sale.
lined cords - dd has these in brown.
Might also get her those striped sweatpants for nursery.

Piffle · 29/09/2006 14:44

ahhh
thx for that I'll give that a whirl then
cheers
