Where can i get wooden table and chair for toddler? I know ELC does, but i need something unisex, not pink or blue. Friends recommend plastic ones from Toysrus, not i just dont like them I could be wrong. BTW, dd only 17 and loves table and chair when ever we go playgroups.
TIA,

ikea do a plain pine one ( unfinished so you can paint or varnish or whatever) with 2 little chairs. About £20 i think

John Lewis do a nice table and chairs, bit pricey but very nice. Also difficult for lo to tip over on chair unlike the plastic sort.

This is the Ikea one we've got (probably the same one that Hana mentioned) -its really good, very solid, especially for the price. It comes in untreated wood so we've just varnished ours.

Mothercare do a set 3 chairs and stool in pine but out of stock and pricey too. I got the same one from Babyworld

Ikea do a couple, the one that is not quite cheapest is very nice.

Mamatoto have some lovely animal chairs. i bought these for my daughters and i didn't even use a highchair for my second - straight out of the bumbo chair onto these.
i have a free p&p code if you are interested! enter KF1ZZ140 at the checkout page.

I got some from here

Thanks girls, My only concern is the height of the chair and table. Do i go for bigger ones so dd will grow in it, or shall get smaller ones. I mean Ikea have different ones. I really like ELC one but they only got blue or pink. I have 20% dicount voucher received today, so im tempted.

I've just bought the unvarnished Ikea ones and I think they are fab for the money about £20 I think they are solid wood too. They had cheaper ones at about £11 but they looked really flimsy. DD1 has road tested the £20 ones and they are great. I reckon they would do up until about 5 years depending on the child.

hana · 28/09/2006 16:32

dd2 has just started sitting there for arts and crafts and snacks - she is 21 months but small - her feet don't reach the floor yet - dd1 is 5 and uses it a lot. It's a good size for her

divamummy · 28/09/2006 17:02

i quite like kritter, the red one , they they much bigger than plain wooden ones.

I have ikea one, gift from MIL. It's great, but have seen lovely ones at GLTC. Verdbaudet do cute painted animal chairs.

lexiemum · 28/09/2006 21:31

we've got the ikea one in link - dd1 has used it from 18mths.

wheresthehamster · 28/09/2006 21:46

We have a sturdy red topped wooden table and 2 matching chairs and I'm sure they were from toys'r'us. Completely unisex. Cost about £48.00.

we've got a round wooden one from John Lewis and matching animal chairs in the playroom here . Ds has the IKEA one in his bedroom.
Both v sturdy. The John Lewis one is indestructable, and easy to keep clean. The animal chairs are v cute and robust/difficult to topple and will support by lardy arse quite well too.

I m doing my son a 6th birthday party on sat 6th nov and need little plastic tables for the kids to sit at. I have tried to get theses tables but i m unable to get them from anywhere. I was gonna use storage containers turned upside down with a tablecloth over them but i don t know whether it would look stupid. Can anyone help me with any ideas, thanks xxx

muddleduck · 03/11/2010 15:12

I have the ELC blue ones and consider them to be unisex.

have not yet found a girl who refused to sit on them because of the colour Grin
