Barbie - Colour Change Fairies

Bought DD these for her birthday, 2 different designs, & they appear to be absolute rubbish. I can see on the wings the bits that are obviously meant to show up when the water is applied but they don't & the hair is still the same despite, warm, cool & icy water being applied to any bits we thought might change. Anyone found the same or have we got duff ones? Is it worthwhile complaining to Mattell?

dd has one, and the wings and hair do change colour with ice-cold water, so looks like you have duff ones if yours don't. Deffo complain to Mattell- I've found them very good- dh broke one of another Barbie's skirts within minutes of her unwrapping it; I emailed Mattell, and as they couldn't replace the skirt, they sent her another doll!

Thans Tissy would you believe it tried them the next day & both worked perfectly first time. Don't know if they needed exposed to light or something but it was bizarre. DD loves them even more now.
