like anything not too fancy, has anyone got a new or nice watch to give me ideas?

me too please, I used to have swatch watches , then tried leather strapped ones and then metal/gold. Put my gold one through the washing machine, leather straps broke or went all cracked so maybe swatch is the best bet?

i don't know what your budget is but DKNY and anne klein do nice ones.

What were you hoping to spend? Do you want a longterm piece, or a trendier one that will probably not last as long?

I have a Tiffany watch that is a classic. It cost far more than I intended, but I'm still wearing it daily 10 years later. It has been an "investment" piece which made the price easier to justify.

TBH I haven't much to spend maybe £50-£100, I'd love a classic but know I haven't the cash

I don't want trendy.

Well - get someone to give it to you! I chose my watch, choked at the price, and my sweet grandmother got it for me as a surprise present.

I am seriously hard to buy gifts for, so in the past I have told my family what I'd like for Christmas (they've begged for suggestions!), and they've pooled money to get it for me. Takes pressure off them by eliminating the need to shop for me, and I get something I really love. Could you do something along those lines to "boost" the budget?

wow, you 2 are in a different league to me

I haven't anyone to ask, basically none of us has any spare money in this family, both dh and I have elderly mums in a council house (not together!!) and no spare cash going!

so my budget is limited!

Swatch person here (originally because the metal on other watches brings me out in a rash) - now cos I like them and they are hardwearing and long lasting...

admylin · 25/09/2006 10:46

I think I will go for swatch again too, I also get the metal reaction andmy last watch with metal also used to make my wrist black.

ssd · 25/09/2006 12:36

swatch sounds good, any idea of the prices?

I love Storm watches. DH and I both have one and they are good.
