Panini/toastie in a George Foreman or similar machine?

Is it possible. I've finally persuaded DH that a George or something similar is a good idea when I'm only cooking for me & DD. I'm fond of paninis & toasties but we've only got a toastie machine which we've had for yonks, plus panini's don't really work because of the position of the ridges in it. Wondered if you can do them in the grill machines rather than forking out for another gadget.

I toast them in mine and my flat plated sandwich toaster, the kids love 'em!

MIL has a big foreman and it does lovely toasties, ideal for wraps and paninis too.

Also does the slices of garlic bread, plus all the dtuff like chicken sausages peppers etc.
