Has anyone moved books from Kobo to Amazon (with conversion?).

I take back any recommendations I have made on here for Kobos! Mine is so glitchy after six months' use and googling seems to show it is a common problem.

I have quite a few books stored, should I be able to convert to a format a kindle is happy with?

Thanks.

PS: if so, which Kindle would everyone recommend? Preferably one with a backlight and long battery life (read a negative review about the paperwhite in that repect).

I assume that Calibre would convert your books from the Kobo format to Amazon.

I've just googled and seen that Kobo use epub and PDF so conversion is no problem.

As for recommending a Kindle, I'm afraid I'm no help. I have the basic and a little clip on book light which does me fine.

Thanks personal - I have a little clip on book-light too at the moment, but thought I may as well upgrade properly.

Bought the Kobo as it was cheap and wasn't sure if I would like an e reader, but a bit of a false economy.
