What do you think about children and mobile phones?

Hey guys

Let me introduce myself - I’m a twenty-something year old from Manchester and love coming up with product ideas (a bit of a wacky inventor!) Smile

I’m not a mum yet but at an age where I’m really thinking about motherhood and a little scared. How are you finding bringing up kids in today’s technology age? Do you think children should have mobile phones? Are they growing up too fast?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how childhood is changing and always see my nephew stuck indoors glued to a device instead of running around outside. I know times have changed but shouldn’t childhood stay timeless?

I’ve always wanted to develop a product that’s meaningful and might have found something with this idea: a kids smartwatch for constant connection between parent and child. Think of a mini phone on their wrist that you could call for example to say dinners ready and that could call only you or fixed numbers back. Like a super safe mobile phone tailored for children so they’re free to play outside and you’re free to relax.

Do you guys have any thoughts on the concept? It’s just a crazy idea for now but would love to hear any feedback.

Big thanks Smile

Could you play candy crush on it?

Google 'Phone wrist watch'

They already exist and have done for ages.
