Has anyone had problems with a Sky installation?

My mum has been umming and arhing for months about a Sky subscription (can't get freeview where she lives, and anyway she wanted extra sport).

Anyway they came to install yesterday. It worked for about an hour, then the box packed up. After she had rung tech support, they sent the engineer back. He got it working, but it packed up again mid evening.

She's powered-off, then tried it again today, but it stopped working after about an hour again (my guess is it's overheating).

She's spent ages on the phone, they will send the engineer back with a replacement box, but not until Wednesday. I've told her to make sure they won't start her subscription till it's working.

But I've never heard of anyone else having probs. Is she just jinxed?

This will sound silly, but i had a similar problem and it was caused by the scart lead into the TV not being jammed in firmly enough.
Agree about not starting subs until its working.

Thanx Foxtrot, I'll tell her to give it a try.

Now, I've got the job of explaining down the phone what the scart lead is.....

Hmm, that didn't work.

Just got to wait till wednesday then.

If it isn't working by the time the Ryder Cup starts I'll get earache down the phone !!!
