Connecting an iPod in a Ford Focus Zetec 2011

Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help. Yesterday I bought Ford Focus Zetec 2011 and hoped to connect my iPod. In the glove box there is a USB and an audio jack connection point.

I used my iPod wire to connect to the USB and then through the radio system I could view playlists/ albums etc. However, I could not hear any music!

I bought a new lead with the USB and audio jack connector. It played music but had to be controlled via the iPod only.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I found the same as you that you need the cable with USB and audio jack. The music has to be controlled via the ipod.

However, If you just put music on a USB stick and plug that in, it will play and be controllable through the car controls.

Does the iPod have bluetooth? (Never used one!) If so connect that way its easier. Or just through the audio jack. If you need to charge at the same time use the USB port to charge. Then go to 'line in' on the settings on the car screen.
