what's the best slow cooker please?

I've decided to buy a slow cooker after hearing from fellow mumsnetters and 2 RL friends how great they are.

What one would you recommend please?

And what size? we are a family of 4 but I love entertaining and would like to be able to use it for 6 adults at least.

Oooh!! I shall follow this thread with interest, have been thinking of getting one for ages.

We've got this one - seems pretty good, although I've only used it about 5 times. Holds loads (4 of us, only filled it about half full, even when entertaining us plus 4 others).

ive got the anthony worrel thompson one from argos - its huge! We do up a batch of stew or whatever, and after we have eaten, we split whats left into 2 and freeze and hey presto - 2 more meals!

do you know the capacity of you ones jessicaandrebeccasmummy and jackieno please?

sorry Jackieno just realised your one has the capacity shown (6.5)

Mine's 6.5 litres, if you fill it all the way (which I haven't yet managed to do).

does it matter though if you regularly only half fill it?
