*Quiet* canopy extractor fan for the kitchen - any recommendations?

Our biggest mistake in the new kitchen is the extractor fan - sounds like a lorry coming down the stairs even on the lowest speed.

Can anyone recommend a really quiet one?

When looking through catalogues last year saw one advertised as specially quiet - less than 40 dB. Think it was German, but can't find it again.

TIA

Don't know the answer but will be watching with interest - I hate extractor fans and rarely use mine but may need to when I get my kitchen done as windows will be harder to open...

I'll be watching too.
Mine is vile.
I wonder why suddenly we are all being tense and aggressive, then switch it off and realise harmony reigns.

I love using shallots but without an extractor we all end up stumbling about with streaming eyes.

With it, we shout and can't cook and listen to music at same time.

Someone please help!

Neff do a very quiet one but I cant find the brochure at the moment - what width do you need?

www.neff.co.uk/D99T7.html link to the neff web site - noise shown at 54db but this is at the max extraction rate, sure it is a lot quieter at the average or min rate but this is only shown in the catalogue!!!
