E3 roll call!

mumbojumbo · 30/03/2004 20:29

As there are so many E3 enthusiasts on Mumsnet (of which I am one - I'd never even heard of an E3 before I started on MN!) - thought it would be fun to have the E3 roll call. What colour have you got and what accessories ? Also what is the funniest thing anyone has said to you about your E3.

For those of you without an E3 - please forgive this moment of pure indulgence!!

me. charcoal (boring I know). No witty comments so far.
I think we should also say whether we owe our E3 ownership to mumsnet - I do! Monkey probably ought to ask for a free upgrade for the amount of business she's generated - I'm sure she was the 'sentinel case' (as the terminology for infectious disease outbreaks would have it!)

BUSTERTHEDOG · 30/03/2004 20:54

Hello elliott
I have just bought my e3 and have chosen the charcoal like you. However, think my colour is faulty as it looks more greenified than grey.

The fabric on the stormcover is a definite grey, but the buggy is not. Bought it by mail order in the Uk online, the lady kindly swapped for a blue one, but the 'grey' on the blue was also this funny colour.

Can you help me? Do you have a storm cover? If so, does your fabric match? I've sent the blue one back, but haven't used my one yet as I don't know if I'm keeping it.

elliott · 30/03/2004 21:02

Hi there. Just been to check the buggy - there's not a whole lot of fabric on the storm cover, but it looks grey to me - same colour as the grey bits on the buggy. Hope you get it sorted - I'd hold out till you're happy, its a lot of money!

BUSTERTHEDOG · 30/03/2004 21:03

are you sure they are the same shade of grey - no difference at all? It was only when I went outside that my 5 year old pointed it out, it is noticeably different, but is not patchy, it's the whole buggy

cheers elliott

Having started this thread, I thought I'd better include my E3.

Also have charcol/black one - goes with so many outfits!

Got storm cover, UV cover (so far unused!) and backpack.

Funniest comment: Not so much a comment but when I first used the buggy with ds2 tucked away underneath, there was much hilarity (sp?) when I was shopping and the staff couldn't work out where the crying was coming from when ds1 was asleep! I'm now using the buggy in toddler mode and can't seem to go anywhere without being accosted at least once by someone saying what a fab buggy it is and where did I get it from. I just wish I was on commission.

I owe it all to MN

Blue, storm & UV covers, buggy bag, panniers, cocoon, extended handle & buggy bunny. Now in doubles mode. DS will probably grow up to be a huge celebrity when he gets used to all the people pointing at him in his rear seat and saying "look, isn't that cute!"

busybee123 · 31/03/2004 10:11

ok me being thick...what the heck is an E3 and where can i get it....sounds interesting!!!

Bagpuss30 · 31/03/2004 10:17

Ooh, another E3 thread!

Blue, Single raincover. Boring eh? Panniers are on order and have had to settle for charcoal ones as there appears to be no blue available .

Still pondering seat liner .

Have had no comments about the buggy whatsoever, obviously the people round here do not have any taste .

I actually came to Mumsnet as a result of the E3. I was looking for reviews and info and stumbled across a thread. I had been looking for a new three wheeler for 6 months and Mumsnetters finally helped me make my choice .

So, come on then, where are the rest of you???

kiwisbird · 31/03/2004 10:18

E3 single (ATM with view to increasing should DH ever talk me round)
Raincover, sunmesh and buggy bag.
Jaysus Bear, you an accessories addict or what? LOL

kiwisbird · 31/03/2004 11:32

Oh forgot I have the buggy liner, not fitting quite as well in new buggy as it did in the old P+T though

kaz33 · 31/03/2004 11:37

Mines a Kiwi Explorer - does that count ??

BearintheBigBlueHous · 31/03/2004 11:47

you converted me Kaz (and I'm sure many others), course that counts

angelstar · 31/03/2004 13:43

fao busterthedog

hi,
my E3 is charcoal and grey and is a funny shade of green also, definatley different fron the raincover and backpak. I've just got a replacement seat unit too due to the zip breaking and that is also the same funny colour, noticable mostly outside

bluebear · 31/03/2004 15:53

I'm getting mine soon - want a blue one with storm cover, travel bag and panniers ..I can't wait!!!!!

pollingfold · 31/03/2004 16:37

Keep reading about this "brilliant" E3, and am now making the decision as to what to save for and buy in a couple of months. DS will be 22 months when baby arrives and is a good walker, but unlikely to make the 15 min walk to shops without much dithering.

I understand the extra seat for the baby, but what do people mean by toddler setting/mode. Can both kids sit up straight at the same time, or only one?

Bagpuss30 · 31/03/2004 16:44

Bear, maybe we could start a thread for accessory addiction? You could head it up .

Actually, will be very interested to hear what you have to say about the UV thingy come the summer. Having said that DD has a knack of pulling the rain cover off our buggy as it's held on with velcro and I assume that the sun mesh will be the same. Have stocked up on sun cream anyway .

Millie1 · 31/03/2004 18:56

Pollingfold - the doubles set up is for baby (older than newborn) plus toddler and one seat is tucked in behind front seat. Look at phil and teds website - www.philandteds.com - for pics. Sorry no time to go into more detail as bathtime looms here!

BUSTERTHEDOG · 02/04/2004 10:13

Thanks Angelstar for your comment, and useful to have your subsequent e:mail, sorry to hear you had the same problem as me, but glad it was sorted out.

Hopefully I will be able to get a response from my supplier.

Meanwhile it's sitting in it's box. We were hoping to use it on our Easter Break

Is this model any good with a buggy board for second child and how high is the handle bar?
Please let me in to this club, you know how I like a clique
