I can't get it on line as there isn't time (birthday on Saturday), so will need to buy it at the shops tomorrow.

Haven't the foggiest idea what appeals to 5 year old boys...

Please help

Ok, thanks - not sure which of those he will have, but I could get one and give his mum the receipt to exchange it (if needed) I suppose

Wasn't planning to spend more than about £5 because he is not a great buddy of dd's, just a class mate in Reception with her.

Is that tight? - what's the accepted amount to spend on a birthday present when a party invitee? (bloody birthday etiquette - it's beyond me )

£5 about right in my book, for a kids party

iota · 07/09/2006 18:59

buy him a bionicle - new lot just out

iota · 07/09/2006 19:01

bionicles although they are £7.99

hyacinthb · 07/09/2006 19:02

I could stretch to £7.99...

Blimey I've got a lot to learn about boys. My ds is only 2 and still plays with his sister's dolls

I am going to buy
these binoculars or these
tomorrow for a 5yr old's birthday party
agree £5-6 is right but will get the dearer ones if I can't be arsed to go to elc

hyacinthb · 08/09/2006 10:24

That's a top idea actually Hovely

love the binoculars idea. only problem is that the local millets and elc have both run out of stock and i need to get it by tomorrow (party this weekend). does anyone know where else i can get some?

alternatively, any ideas if it is possible to get walkie talkies for under a tenner?
