apart from really wintry nights we have always used summer weight grobags - i like funky flowers one best. I got 1 tog one from kiddicare last week and as it is coming up to winter all the 1 togs were reduced to £19.99

I quite like the funky stars and the fleecy bee ones.

Enid!

I have about 4 in my wardrobe, from short ones to long ones. Dd1 loved them and was in one till she was about 3 (!!) dd2 was out of them by about 8 months.

You are welcome to have them foc if you want them.

Not sure of tog, I didn't pay the blindest

Tutter · 07/09/2006 11:21

i have both but never use the 2.5 tog. you can always build up layers under a thinner tog bag, but you can't cool down a warm one, iyswim.

I really like the bright stripes one, and would go for the 2.5 tog ones as it is coming up to winter. There are plainer baby sleeping bags available if you don't like the grobag patterns, white company do plain white, and pink and blue ones. I have also seen some fab ones on www.naturalmat.com, they are organic combi ones that include a 1.5tog inner fleece bag, and an outer 2.5 one, you can use them separately, depending on the temp. The only downside is they are quite expensive, esp compared to grobag.

btw the bright stripes one has a vent for car seat straps - can be useful...

tinytitch · 07/09/2006 11:54

If mil is buying get both togs, geniune gro-bags usually fetch a good price either on e-bay or nct sales (or mumsnet)

We've got the brightstripes now for my DD she's 21mo have had it since she was about 13 mo, even though its an 18-36mo one. After having various other designs and brands I think grobags are the best and wash really well, plus their age ranges are often wider, 6-18m not 6-12m. Have found having the slit in the back for use in a carseat invaluable for travelling esp. at christmas last year when visiting grandparents. Generally use 2.5 Tog except for high summer, but then DD's bedroom is fairly cold and she moves around far to much for an extra blanket.
