perspex construction toy?

When we were small, our family and all neighbouring ones had a construction toy made of beautifully coloured translucent perspex squares & tubes, with slits so you could fit them together. I would love to find out if it's still made - but don't even know what it was called.

Older(!) MNers' recall specially welcome - this was the sixties. Can anyone help?

I think I remember it (very vaguely - was born in 1969), but sorry, no idea what it was called.
