iron recommendations please

I need a new iron, mine blew up weeks ago and have been using a £3.50 job i bought as a spare but its so light weight that its useless so can anyone recommend a good chepish iron please.

I spent £50 on an iron a few years ago and it fab - worth the extra money - esp with the autoshut off - I never remember to unplug so it was a good piece of mind sort of thing. It's a MOrphy Richards

does anyone have one of those steam press things? if so are they any good? Or a polti steam cleaner with the iron attatchment

I wouldn't get a really cheap one - we've got one that was about £70 & it's really good. Can't think of it's name though but it's purple. OH chose it.

mmm me thinks its gonna have to be a dcent one. Anyone got one with the steam base thing on it? Or one of those oroning press machines
