DS2 loved it at babygroup but its gone back to the toy library and I want to buy him one (ok, ok, I want it for me!!!)

Its on a wooden platform, disc shaped which you turn to play the music. On the platform is a globe which turns with the music, and projecting off the globe are 9 or 10 wooden balls on springs, all different colours

I WANT ONE! Can anyone help? Whats it called and where can I get one (and how much is it? It was made of pretty solid wood so i doubt it'll be cheap!)
TIA

There's a shop in Stratford upon Avon called "Once a Tree" which sells wooden things (some quite unusual) it may be worth a try. I'll keep looking and asking around for you.

charlieplus3 · 26/03/2004 22:16

is it a fluffy elephant?

crystaltips · 26/03/2004 22:25

sad or what - I am trailing through the NET ... what sort of age group are we talking here.

Any idea as to how old the bloomin thing is ??

Lisa78 · 26/03/2004 22:32

oh peeps! Bless you! Its for v young age, am sure, and it looked brand new - not a mark on it, so must be very new considering its in a toy library
Perhaps I should try to steal it!

In the first instance ( to help my search ) would it be classified as a musical toy ??

crystaltips · 26/03/2004 22:45

Tell me that this is it ......

Look for Musical fantasy .... half way down the page ....

is this your toy?

SoupDragon · 27/03/2004 08:29

How can that NOT be it from the description!?

crystaltips · 27/03/2004 11:09

c'mon Lisa78 - I want to see if we've got the right one for you .... where are you!

marthamoo · 27/03/2004 11:12

Borrow it from Toy Library, say you left it on bus, pay them for said toy.

marthamoo · 27/03/2004 11:12

Yikes, £32.99!

jampot · 27/03/2004 13:18

www.baby-barn.com have it for £24.99 and it's by Koulvalias.

Lisa78 · 27/03/2004 20:09

yippee! yes thats it! Thank you! But bloody hell, £25.... Will have to do some serious thinking about that - and some serious sucking up to DH to persuade him its a good idea!

OP posts:
crystaltips · 27/03/2004 20:26

Tell DH that it was initially £33 and you've managed to get it down to £24 ... which is roughly about right

Lisa78 · 27/03/2004 20:45

CT, you are a woman after my own heart!! Plus, my Aunt gave him £10 so really thats only £15
And its sturdy - last him years!!! Besides, it would be rude not to after all your hard work finding it
