would you buy a second hand travel system?

And how much would you be prepared to pay for it? I have a graco voyage air TS which we used for about a year, the tray has a few scratches on it but apart from that it is in very good condition. I'd like to sell it but am not sure how much to ask for it, any advice?

Hi, I had a Graco Denver system (much the same I think) and used it for about the same length of time. I sold it for £100 which included raincovers, parasol, cosytoes, pram bag and a little cosytoes for the car seat bit. When I contacted a local second hand nursery shop about it, the lady there said that they usually sell for about half their original price which is roughly what we got.

How did you sell it Bagpuss30?

I saw a wanted ad on UK Parents and sent it by carrier and charged £60 including postage which was £10. It was an 18 month old Britax Ultra which cost about £175 and used daily. It was still in good condition though. I was just glad to get rid of it! Could you not have a look in your local paper and see how much everybody elses is.

I bought a second-hand travel system at NCT sale and it was great. But I didn't buy the car seat - in fact I don't think anyone should be allowed to sell second-hand car seats. The buyer doesn't know if they've been in a crash, in which case they are dangerous and shouldn't be used again. OK, yours might not have been, but the buyer has no guarantee.

Good point, eddm, although I don't think that the people I sold it to had a car anyway.

Happy1, I sold it to a friend of a friend in the end. I was going to use a second hand nursery shop but the lady running it charged about 40% of the purchase price as commission on anything sold (too much IMO). I also advertised in the local paper but there were no takers. Furball's suggestion is a good place to start though.
