HELP! - E3 EXPLORER IN CHARCOAL / BLACK

BUSTERTHEDOG · 25/03/2004 18:13

Have received mine today and my buggy is in a shade of light green, but the storm covers are definitely grey. Has anyone else had this problem? My 5 year old pointed it out to me, that's how noticeable it is!

Please reply, especially if yours does NOT look like this

Thanks guys. I'm so disappointed - I just want to take it out and I can't now!

I noticed this when I went into Daisy and Tom to look at them. The one they had looked a lot lighter in the flesh which is what swayed me to buy the blue one. The other possibility is that you could have been sent the green one (old colourway) by accident. Where did you buy it from? Perhaps you could give them a call to discuss.

I hope you sort it out, I was gutted when I couldn't fit the wheel on mine, esp as I had only just managed to persuade dh that it was a quality product. It was all sorted out with a call to the supplier though and I'm sure you will sort yours out too.

I think that some of the others have black but can't remenber who. Welcome to the club BTW , they really are excellent once you get out and about .

zippy539 · 25/03/2004 19:01

Can't really help - by storm covers do you mean the rain thingy or something else? I've got the charcoal buggy (grey/black) and it matches the raincovers etc. Who did you get it from? If Bill and Teds get onto them and they'll sort you out!

BUSTERTHEDOG · 25/03/2004 20:48

I bought it from a UK on line supplier who is on the Phil and Ted's web site, and they are aware of the problem, but have not phoned me back. Their web site has disappeared and their phone is no longer able to take incoming messages ............ better not say who it is, as I am holding out hope that they will help me!.

It dook me ages to pursuade my husband too ..... he saw it in the hall this morning, and now it's all packed away in the box, haven't explained why yet - I'm too scared!

The lady doesn't have any more black, she does have blue though ..... tell me baout the blue, it looks so bright in the photos - is it not?

Hope you get this sorted out soon. We have the blue and it's lovely - not too bright and not too dull ... know that's not much help but it is nice. Good luck!

BearintheBigBlueHous · 25/03/2004 23:07

Kick butt and demand the blue - it's nowhere near as light as it looks on some websites. If you need any help persuading your supplier, I'm happy to ride shotgun.

BUSTERTHEDOG · 26/03/2004 09:09

thanks everyone! This is such a great site.

The lady that supplied it has offered to change it for the blue, which I am really happy about. They are going to collect the other one, although P&T's have just said that clients should expect variation in colour.

If the supplier really does give me a sterling service I shall tell you all who it is, and promote them to the hilt!

Those of you that have blue, can you tell me what colour fabric is on your storm / rain cover? Is it blue like the buggy?

Cheers!

I'll keep you posted

kiwisbird · 26/03/2004 09:32

rain cover is the grey contrast, that way the same cover fits all buggies
I have blue its pure class my dear

Bagpuss30 · 26/03/2004 09:57

Yup, Blue is my fav. Much better than the red, lol! Only thing I would say about fabric variation is that when out in the rain I sometimes get discolouration on the grey parts of the buggy (like the footrest/bottom of raincover) but if you dampen a cloth and rub over the watermark it goes. Glad you got it sorted Buster. Now tell us Who is it????

BUSTERTHEDOG · 26/03/2004 13:11

they're picking up the old buggy today and I get my new blue on on Monday!!!!!!!!

I will be singing their name from the roof tops if I get it ........... wait and see! they have been extremely helpful

I cannot wait to get it now!

QUICK QUICK ............... HELP!

The navy one is here, but the doubles kit is in charcoal / black .......... is this right? Is says navy on the outside of the packing for the d kit.

Please someone tell me if this is right!

OP posts:
Gem13 · 29/03/2004 11:30

Doubles kit should be the same colour as the buggy. So it does sound like they've packed the wrong one.

Bagpuss30 · 29/03/2004 11:48

Buster, just had a look at some pics of the doubles kit. It should be blue on the outside and charcoal grey on the inside I think.

HTH

kiwisbird · 29/03/2004 11:52

aarrghhh poor buster doubles should be same colour!
Hury call them and tell them off again!
poor you
xx

BUSTERTHEDOG · 29/03/2004 12:11

Everyone!

Know what's even worse?
The carcoal on the buggy is STILL a different colour to the fabric on the raincover whihc is much more grey

Is it me? Are yours all like this?

What shall I do now - keep the charcoal and black or the navy? I must be the only person in the UK who currently has two E3s assembled side by side in the living room!

OP posts:
Bagpuss30 · 29/03/2004 12:13

My raincover is slightly different depending on what the light is like IYSWIM, but it doesn't notice when it is on.

bluebear · 29/03/2004 12:15

OMG Buster - only just seen this thread - hope it works out for you. BB

BUSTERTHEDOG · 29/03/2004 12:36

I now think the raincover is the thing with the wrong colour fabric - so which colour do I keep - the charcoal and black or the navy ........... which is going to have the best resale value?

Does anyone know which is most popular?

OP posts:
bluebear · 29/03/2004 20:44

our local store has sold out of navy (and I like it best) so it seems quite popular.
