Washing machines - anyone got a 'best buy' guide from Which or other?

We need to buy a new washing machine. Don't want to spend more than 300. Does anyone have a WHich guide or similar 'best buy' guide to recommend which one we should go for? There are three of us in our house, me, DH and DS. TIA

There was a thread on here a while back - I think Meile are best but expensive but they also make Bosch ones which you can pick up for under £300 I think. HTH. I need one too!

I was looking at one over the weekend, damnit, what did it say...
I think Bosch and Miele, too, but can't remember more specific than that.

miele are dogs bollox honest to god.
thank of it logically...
We have had 3 £300 washing machines. None have lasted longer than 18 mths. total cost £900 plus one guarantee that was not worth money printed on
Our Miele cost £700 has 15 year manufacturers guarantee as standard
All the washing machine techs that we have seen in the past (and we have seen a LOT) say miele or bosch

Miele!!!

Have just had a brief look on the net and seen a few for a bit more than your budget but not mega £££ more. Might be worth shopping around if you fancy Miele.

Miele definitely - there's no comparison, built to last 20 years not 5. Check out this site, loads of info : www.washerhelp.co.uk . I got the very cheapest Miele I could find - under £500 when I replaced my old Indesit last September - the Co-op electrical store online had the cheapest price then.

According to the which report just been done in August the 2 best washer machines are:

Miele W3240 - £620
Bosch WBB 24759 - £690

there are quite a few they have awarded best buys to so if you are looking for something cheaper let me know you price range

Holymoly321 · 05/09/2006 09:05

Ah, Janbo! Thanks so much - and everyone else too! Janbo, our budget would be around 450 max (sorry, laptop has lost it's pound sign!). What would Which suggest in that price range?

There are 4 which have been rated the same within your price bracket as best buys these are:

AEG Electrolux L62810 - £312
Miele Premier 520 - £475
Siemens WXL147A - £425
Zanussi Electrolux ZWF1451W - £369

I myself have the siemens one and can highly recommend it we are very pleased with it.

Good Luck
