I've spent mega £s on underwired bras, including £130 at Bravissimo. Of the 3 bra/knicker sets 2 were fine and one rubbed me to death and left 2 great big red 'smiles' under my boobs. Sorry! I just can't seem to get on with underwires at all. have now sadly gone back to my 100 year old, off grey cotton sexless and underwireless M&S. BTW I'm 38f according to Bravissimo, 40c at M&S and 38c at Debenhams - I give up!!!

Hi Cod
yes, it was one of the braissimo which rubbed. The other 2 were ok, but I tend just to wear them when getting dressed up. The bioform looks interesting. have you got one? how do they 'work'? I think I never got over my '70's feminist brain washing to love wearing a bra!Am I the only one who takes off her bra the moment I get home from work!!!!!!

I hate Balconette. Yuck yuck yuck. Could never find one that actually sat against my chest instead of boinging around somewhere in front of me. Largely down to M&S and their ineptitude. Now I get measured at JL & buy at Bravissimo. And since ds no more underwired.

M&S once measured me as 38A. Take one look at me. My first bra was a B cup ffs!

kiwisbird · 29/03/2004 19:36

I already do v necks a la Trinny and Susannah message, but I would love just a fitted ordinary t shirt ... although my midriff has seen thinner days...
I thought the bio form was total over hyped crap, like wearing frisbees crudely boob shaped. You could do ET phone home wearing one. DH cuddled me wearing one once and exclaimed, not fried eggs but frying pans!
I always have one of the following
5.25pm nipples
overspill
underspill (comfy but ugly when naked ish)
straps riding up back or
digging into shoulders
armpit spill.
I have been sized I feel like going into rigby and peller just once to get it sorted properly..

Cod I live in Hampshire Fleet to be precise!

Mumski · 29/03/2004 20:01

I think you may be right Cod about the stiching. However, annoyingly I drove all the way to the Solihull bravissemo - a round trip of 60 miles hoping to finally get sorted - and still ended up paying for somthing I never wear and cost £30! so it wasn't even me meesing up the measuments

kiwisbird I know Coddy doesn't approve but I like these they do them in loads of colours, not too short and not too tight either.

You've definately got to find a good bra shop, ask friends who are larger in the bust department where they go, I travel 20 miles to a fantastic bra shop and it is well worth it.

Cod, I am enjoying your apparent "expertise" on the subject but I find I can never where crew tops that look flattering! I always look like I have a shelf under my chin!! And they make my shoulders too broad. I am surprised you think that M&S are narrow round that back. I used to find that they rode up around my back - (I am a 34E at bravissimo and JL) but it has been years since I have wasted money on one!!

Uhmmm, probably the short neck thing - that's what dh says, bless him!

Demented · 30/03/2004 11:03

Glad you approve Coddy! I'm wearing one of mine today, size 14 but I am more like a 12 across the shoulders so perhaps that helps and obviously a 32 round the back is on the small side, it's just when I get down to my midrift/waist that the real problems begin.

kiwisbird · 30/03/2004 11:17

I will drag DH to Salisbury this weekend then... DS can skulk around outside looking embarrassed
However a big box from figleaves just arrived and one is expected from Bravissimo too, feel like a bit of a heel as have drawer full of bras I have never worn
Maybe we should set up a big knockers sway shop LOL
Those t shirts do look good, I realised that all the shirts I have its only the M+S ones I wear comfortably

Spooky Coddy! I think you are smaller than me on the bottom though, I'm a definate 14 in skirts/trousers.

Am I right in saying you are 5' 7" too?
