figleaves mail out includes this today

Demented · 31/07/2004 23:15

After thinking I was going to leave you all I finally got round to being measured again today and I am still a 32E, although I have changed shape a bit. The fitter recommended a baconette, a la Coddy . At first I wasn't sure as I had tried them on in the past and seemed to be spilling over them but my bust is not as full as it was at the top so it is just perfect. The one she recommended was the Fantasie t-shirt one that Coddy gives the link to below, unfortunately they didn't have it in stock, apparently it is quite small made so she felt I would be better with the 32F. I have ordered one (as that is all they would allow me to order as stock is limited) from Figleaves, I've never ordered from them before and ended up with a bikini (shock, horror, will probably be going straight back) and a tankini, ended up spending over £100 in addition to the £23 I spent in the bra shop today on a new sports bra and now having a panic about going overdrawn!

Demented · 31/07/2004 23:19

Oh just another thought, the fitter in the shop (very good bra shop, wouldn't go anywhere else) reckons that my bra size won't reduce any more as I haven't changed size after losing another stone/stone and a half, she thinks that my chest has settled at that size and the weight will just come off elsewhere. Anyone got any experience of this? I would like to know if it has settled down as it would be nice to splash out on one or two nice bras rather than just an everyday wash one wear one collection.

All those links are just too tempting!

Thanks for this thread folks - it opens up a whole new world for me and my 38F melons! Do Bravisimo do nursing bras? Oh and is it ok if I join you lovely ladies in this club? No more M&S for me when bf stops - will only go down to DD at best then if I'm lucky - and if I diet and exercise too! Hmmmm.
These bras look lovely though and nothing like the scaffolding I usually end up with!

cellulitequeen · 01/08/2004 19:49

Where is your excellent bra shop Demented? I stopped BF a couple of months ago and am now back to pre-pregnancy weight (HOORAY!!!) so decided to get properly re-measured last week. Always wore a 34B before and it turns out I am now a 30DD! I splashed out on some gorgeous Panache Superbras and justified expense by thinking of all the money I saved BF for 9 months (that won't really help me when credit card bill arrives)

katzguk · 01/08/2004 19:59

mentioned this on another thread but thought i'd add it here just in case anyone missed it. theres a great bra website for cheap big bras.

www.brastop.com

i have just treated myself to a 34F body suit for the bargin price of £12.95 plus free p and p within the UK

will post again to let you know how goosd the service was

Bunglie · 01/08/2004 20:09

Does a 34A get me in the club?

Demented · 02/08/2004 10:21

Bunglie!

Cellulitequeen, it's in Stirling, Scotland. Not sure if this is any use to you? It's called The Personal Touch (I think?) and is at the top of the old arcade. I used to go to Jenners but they are better than Jenners and miles better than M&S or Debenhams.

cellulitequeen · 03/08/2004 10:21

Demented, Stirling no good for me as I live in Wales!

Demented · 03/08/2004 10:26

Bit of a day out?

Pama · 05/08/2004 20:02

Is anyone familiar with the website plussizebras.org ? They do NOT sell bras, but they have what appears to be a comprehensive list of bra makers in F cup sizes and higher. Looks like they have some kind of at-home modeling program where you can get free bras. Anyone ?

mammya · 05/08/2004 21:03

Well I tried to find that plussizebras website and got an error message saying that access was FORBIDEN! IMHO very dodgy... Also I noticed that this was pama's one and only post on mn... dodgy again!

hoxtonchick · 05/08/2004 21:04

It worked for me, mammya .

MadameButterfly · 05/08/2004 21:14

worked for me as well :0

Pama · 05/08/2004 21:24

hi all, guess I should have introduced myself. I'm a newbie, mother of twins. I do live in the States, so am I still allowed ?
plussizebras was started by a nice lady named DeeDeec who wore a 42I and finally got fed up with the lack of good bras in larger sizes.

Demented · 05/08/2004 22:05

BTW Bravissimo have fitted tops for us larger busted ladies! They don't have support like their strappy tops, they are more like a shirt you would wear to the office, they look really good.

mammya · 06/08/2004 10:13

Oh ok then... will have to try again! Sorry Pama...

Pama · 06/08/2004 17:36

make sure you type in ".org" instead of ".com". BTW, a site that uses .org is not a commercial site, information only.

tinytoes · 06/08/2004 17:40

where do i go to get them measured properly for a bra every one i buy(usually online is too small)
end up with that 'four breasts' thing when your bra slices them in half lol (not very sexy!)
bc i was a/b cup now i think im at least dd is this ok to join your club please?

tinytoes · 06/08/2004 17:43

glad to say ive thrown my chickens in the bin
only wore them a couple of times though!

Pama · 06/08/2004 19:53

Tinytoes,
bra woes ? yeah, join the club. check out the link to www.plussizebras.org (in an earlier message).
With their help, I am now wearing the most wonderfully comfy and properly sized bras ever (I should get a commission each time I give them a plug, LOL). They can do a virtual fitting for you that yields better results than most of us would ever get in person. Let me know if this works for ya.

katzguk · 06/08/2004 20:00

okay got my lovely sexy cheap 34F sized body from brastop.com and its great, for big boobed mums with small pockets this website is a must.

Pama · 06/08/2004 20:07

I love bra shop as well. There a similarly named shop in the states named - "The Bust Stop", LOL

Pama · 06/08/2004 20:08

...meant to say brastop
