buying a still in box iPhone 4S from Gumtree

Would you? Ds1 desparate for an iPhone. We are unhappy paying new prices for a teenager but hes found one on Gumtree for £125, still in box. Obviously we risk having no guarantee, but if he treated himself then a sim is just £7 pm, so it becomes feasible. But is there anything else we should think of? And would anyone sensible even think of doing it?

Thank youuuuu

If £125 is substantial lower than what they normally sell for in eBay then I would be wary. What if it's stolen and in a weeks time it gets blocked or the police come knocking?

I've bought and sold phones on eBay and it does seem to be an area where there's a lot of scammers so do be careful. Can the seller show you a receipt for the phone with the imei number listed on it?

I wouldn't - if it's too good to be true then it's probably a fake or stolen.
