Best sunblock for baby with eczema

Hi, we're off to the States with our little one this summer - she'll be a year old when we go. I've been putting sunscreen on her this week and have noticed that her eczema is already flairing up in reaction to it. Any recommenations for a sunblock that might be better for her? I've read a bit about Sunsense - is there one for babies, or is the Toddler Milk one ok? Any other recommendations as well? Many thanks

We were recommended Boots own "Soltan baby" for our DD for similar reasons - the chemicals in the others actually cause a flare up of urticaria - though her official GP diagnosis was Eczema too, hers turned out to be urticaria

Soltan baby is hyper allergenic & it's still the only one she can use now at 11

We use this Sunsnse one on DS (19m but used it on him last summer) after 3 other sunblocks set off his eczema, including Uvistat which is what my mum used on me when I was an eczema ridden toddler www.crawfordhealthcare.com/product/sensitive

We use sun sense toddler milk on ds. It's suitable for babies. Great stuff.

Green people suncream is great. It's not chemical just mineral so hugely less likely to get a reaction. I use the adult one on me & my 1 year old. I've been using it for years and I've never burnt (v v v pale skin)

There is a baby version of Sunsense eg not the toddler milk - both are available on prescription btw, there are also a couple of other even more sensitive options available on prescription.

Sun and eczema though - i've found it to be a huge trigger no matter what the suncream, there's a helpful article on the portland hospital's website about sun/babies/eczema www.theportlandhospital.com/blog/how-to-have-an-eczema-free-summer/

i might checkout soltan baby though

Sun block or sunscreen?

Here's a sun block

Justgotosleepnow · 18/05/2014 21:15

Any suncream over SPF 15 is using chemicals to make the block. The green people one is mineral only. It's also very moisturising.
I'm guessing that ezxema skin is going to be sensitive to chemicals.
Honestly I've never burnt using it, I'm type 1 skin with psoriasis living in the south of England.

Hi, just wondering if you can tell me where I can get the green people sun cream, my daughter has terrible reaction to every one I've tried so far!

Soltan baby makes my baby react.

What works for one won't necessarily work the other. It's trial and error. Skin can react to natural products just as easily as chemical products
