Ok I'm completely behind the times. I thought I'd treat my kids to some sort of cheap music player and initially thought CD player, then I thought maybe an mp3 with speakers.

Anyone recommend anything, cheap as poss, maybe from argos that would do e trick!

Thanks

My DCs have my old CD player in their bedroom. If I'd have been buying them one I'd have just got the cheapest one from Argos tbh as an MP3 player with speakers/docking station would be quite expensive for a decent sound, plus they'd have driven me batty arguing over who got to use the mp3 with earphones.

It depends on their age though, my eldest is 6 so doesn't really know the difference. If they were older they'd likely want an MP3 player but that would have to be a Christmas / birthday present.

Before I bought my CD player that the DCs have now, I had a basic stereo from Argos ( was about £15 as many years ago) and it did the job. The bonus for my parents was that the basic stereo with built in speakers don't have as much volume as bigger stereo systems so can't annoy the neighbours as much.

I can't link as on phone but I've just looked and Argos have boom box style CD players under £30 which are similar to the one I used to have.

Dcs have our old CD players also.

If you want cheap as poss how about finding an Oxfam that does electrics/ Gumtree/ FB selling pages?
Loads of people want to get rid of their CD players. I wouldn't part with mine.
