I've bought things from Comet, and they seem to have pretty quick delivery times (but are usually a little bit more expensive) - I think the difference is that they have a number of warehouses where they hold stock, rather than relying on getting the product direct from the manufacturer.

When I say quite quickly, I think a week is the longest I had to wait, and that was because I had to find a day suitable for me.

Aaargh no not Comet, they are the devil incarnate (BAD Comet experience!!)

We have had a few things from www.QED-uk.com - good prices and quick delivery. It is the online part of Miller Brothers.

I can never understand why comet charge you extra for delivery - when they won't let you pick the damn thing up yourself anyway!?

I needed a new fridge freezer and went to iceland and demanded one there and then. They let me have the one off the shop floor (and at a discount). You could try that (or John Lewis)

A vote FOR Comet here - sorry, MM - v good website and delivery within a couple of days. Some models have free delivery, too Becca. I got my dryer from them a couple of months ago.

Comet dryers page . Look for the ones with green flashes for free delivery.

appliance-city were fast and reliable when I ordered a load of stuff off them recently. Ordered on the Tuesday, told it would be delivered on Monday/Tuesday the following week, which was when they "did" the Scotland run, but would be contacted by the delivery firm on the Friday to be told which day. The delivery company range on the Friday, as promised, and said the stuff would be delivered Monday afternoon, and it was.

They are based in Nottingham, so I am sure you wouldn't have to wait any longer - probably a lot less!

Their prices were very good as well!

I had a look at them, as they had been well reviewed on one of the "review" internet sites - and I will be adding another positive review.
