for DS's 2nd birthday?

What did yours like most?

Or shall I just get him a pair of new wellies and some Charlie and Lola stickers and leave it at that?

Does he like cars? If so get the garage. My ds liked his but was not hugely into cars.
The wellies and stickers sound good.

he likes cars, but also loves "andimals", and making beds, baths and chairs for little dollies out of bricks.

we have just bought DS2 a dolls house for his 3rd birthday. (on Sunday - don't know if he likes it yet!)
He has a garage but it doesn't get played with much as him and DS1 are not really into cars.
Farms are always very popular IME

I have 2 dds and 2 dss, one farm, one dolls house and 2 garages.

the farm is played with very rarely - IMO they like the animals but don't see the point of the farm buildings etc. even ds2 who is frighteningly obsessed with tractors and trailers doesn't play with it much.

garage played with never. again they zoom cars around but don't feel the need to park or fix them.

dolls house played with ALL THE TIME. by all children. moving furniture around, trashing it, putting farm animals into bunk beds, they love it. I think they can be more imaginative with something they know intimately (ie a house) rather than something slightly abstract (farm, garage).

hope that helps!

I'd go with the dolls house as there's more they can get out of it. My ds is of a sim age and we got him a kitchen last xmas and he has hours of fun with it even now!!

the happyland dolls house is great (ELC) and is the Fisher Price little peoples one but the latter is very pink!

tassis · 24/08/2006 20:27

as is... not and is

sorry

(how did that happen??)

they are all basically the same thing, aren't they?
See also animal hospital, pirate ship, castle, ELC big red space rocket, noah's ark, airport,...all sorts of 'houses' into which little people and/or animals can be put, with various degrees of sophistication. So if you have two or three of them you don't need to have ALL of them.

(anyway that is what I am saying to myself as I try desperately to control the number of toys taking over here)

if I had to put them into ascending age order I would say; farm, noah's ark, garage, space rocket, dolls house, pirate ship, castle, animal hospital.

but it sounds like your DS mazzystar would like a dolls' house best if he makes little beds for dollies!
does he have a kitchen? super top toy IMO.
