I've never been bale to do this, mostly because when I take off my glasses I can't see well enough in the mirror in the opticians to see if the frames I'm trying suit me....

I take DH. Or my mum. Or my sister. This is also a good reason to go to Specsavers, because if you get a different frame on the free pair you at least have a choice if you realise later you made a bad decision in the shop.

I've never been able to do this, I mean.

nightmare - I know!

I helped myself by choosing rimless ones - it still took me a while to choose the shape but it was a lot easier than picking frames!

Specsavers have a thing where you try them on, take your picture then look at the picture on the screen. A godsend for the optically challenged!

I think it's David Clulow where you can take up to three pairs home with you for a day to try on and show to family and friends (presumably for a deposit, or something). Haven't tried it, but it sounds like a great scheme.

well my rimless titanium cost £169 from specsavers and I got a pair of RedorDead prescription sunglasses free!
