About to buy a CANON POWERSHOT A430 - any opinions?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about buying a digital camera for FiL's 70th birthday. Basic but robust and good quality point and shoot.

We later added the ability to make short movies to the criteria.

This one seems to tick all the right boxes and we have the A520 ourselves so know we are buying a reliable brand.

Anyone got one of these or have any opinions?

I've got a Canon Powershot A75 - it's a few years old but I'm still very pleased with it.

I think nowadays it's preference as much as anything else that shapes a decision. Most of the top names offer similar quality & guarantees.
