Were planning to buy a powertwin in preparation for no 2, and two left feet seem to have the best deals. I just wanted to find out if anyone had brought from them and if they were any good?

I don't want to buy something so expensive from a dodgy dealer!

Cheers

i did try buying a travel cot from them for £94 and after paying for it they emailed me saying it wasnt available for another month. had to wait over a month for them to give me a refund

Mum2FunkyDude · 20/08/2006 12:34

Yeah, we bought a glider and ended up waiting 8 weeks for it, they don't seem to tell you before hand if its not in stock.

However, I then bought a bathring and it was delivered in 3 days? I think it is depending on stock.

Personally I'd shop around elsewhere - few of their Deals seem to actually materialise. Too many stories of non delivery, delays, withholding refund of payments when stuff doesn't show up or is suddenly unavailable, lack of communication and replies to emails etc. Milton Keynes Trading Standards and Watchdog have files on them, apparently.

NatalieJane · 20/08/2006 13:16

I haven't had any dealings with them, but I am told if you ring through with your order, rather than doing it on line, they have a live stock check, so can tell you straight away if something is in stock or not.

Their website can only be decribed as mis-leading when it comes to estimated delivery dates by all accounts.

longwaytogo · 20/08/2006 14:08

Don't touch them. Plenty of threads to tell you why but we had a nightmare with them 3 1/2 yrs ago and plenty more people since then have had problems with them.

My problem was that raincover never turned up and despite at least 30 emails and trading standards getting involved it never materialised and trading standards said they had contacted t.s wherever they were based and they had loads of complaints about them.

Wags · 20/08/2006 14:16

I got my Phil & Teds from them and had no trouble at all. Ordered it and it arrived when they said and were helpful when I rang them for some advice when I was putting the buggy together. I hadn't done any searches on them though, just saw that they offered the best deal!! Thank goodness I was one of the lucky ones then.

ja9 · 20/08/2006 14:17

we had no problems

but it seems that plenty of others have...

poppyh · 20/08/2006 17:37

Avoid if can. they are a nightmare. Bought a pushchair from them, but it wasnt suitable from birth. Sent it back but had to wait MONTHS for a refund. Our bank had to get involved as they didnt respond to any of our emails. They have no customer service, would never use them again. I know plenty of other people have had problems with them.
Try The Glasgow Parm centre, they do some good deals and are nice!

vickiyumyum · 20/08/2006 19:34

i've brought from them with no problems. several items including a buggy that was delivered before they said it would be and buggy accessories, all arrived on time.

hulababy · 20/08/2006 19:46

My own opinion - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

I have used them twice. First time, 4 years ago, no problem. Last time at Christmas this year - nightmare. Took threats of Watchdog (actually spoke with them about TWL as so many complaints), solicitors and trading standards. I had to go to the managing director before it was eventually sprted and I got my money back - some 3 months later, with no car seat ever recieved. There are complaints about them all over the internet from what I can gather.

hulababy · 20/08/2006 19:47

I get the impression that if they have the item in stock or it is something simple - no probklem.

If something does go wrong for whatever reason - that is when the nightmares begin. There is NO customer servie to talk of and you have to resort to threats of taking it further before aynyone even bothers to respond. You get fobbed off over and over again. As I say it took getting in touch with the MD!

normal · 20/08/2006 21:27

I went to their shop and didn't like their attitude so bought elsewhere.

I bought from www.pramworld.co.uk I really can't fault their service. I've had to return damaged stuff and also one parasol which was completely useless. All without a single problem. I called them up about stock first before ordering and they delivered as promised.

SpikeMomma · 20/08/2006 22:02

Avoid like the plague. Search on here for more threads. Don't do it!! Won't be the best deal in the long run - you'll need a packet of hair dye due to the stress.

Tiggly · 20/08/2006 23:31

Avoid avoid avoid!! I bought a Bugaboo Frog footmuff for my nephew from them. They took the £70 from my account in an instant, 3 months later, still no delivery. After contacting Watchdog and Trading Standards, they eventually paid my money back. They only have a purchase phone line, if you want to contact them to trace your purchase, make a complaint, claim a refund or scream at them, you have to do it by email!Hopeless company and I would never go there again! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!

Tiggly · 20/08/2006 23:33

p.s forgot to say, buy at John Lewis, they have a price promise (if you find it cheaper elsewhere, they will lower their price to match), aftersales is excellent and they break their backs to find what your looking for, and deliver it to you if that helps you!! Cannot fault them in the slightest!!

melrose · 20/08/2006 23:40

I thought they were great! Bought a quinny zapp from them, ordered over the phone as I bought for a trip to Australia and ordered it about 10 days before leaving, they checked it wasn stock and made it a priority, got it in 2 days. They were loovely about it, very helpful and far cheaper than elsewhere.

Had forgotten aout John Lewis price promise though and that would have been easier!
