OK, who thinks that this is funky and unusual and who would rather have root canal treatment that have it in their house?

I realise it is hybrid of trad look with modern materials which is why I can't decide if it would be a design disaster or something really cool!

Will tell you which I think once you have all voted!

CD I really like it. You can get new clthes called e-clothes which we use on all our stainless steel stuff. No finger prints etc. I love the mix of old and new though - so love high tech modern in an old house.

I would say go for it - sometimes you have to be bold to make an impact - it is really sexy!

jmg · 16/03/2004 21:12

by the way - glass really is a nightmare - we have glass in the bathroom and its a full time job for the cleaner to keep the limescale from building up. Seriously it looks fab when its just been cleaned but as soon as you use it it goes all yuck!

CountessDracula · 16/03/2004 22:04

Have been looking again at this with dh and we have decided we do like it after all!

I like it!

hoxtonchick · 17/03/2004 07:45

it's lovely. your cleaner will hate you...

StripyMouse · 17/03/2004 08:18

I think it is lovely. We have a great deep butler sink in the utility room and I love it to death - brilliant for so many jobs as well as looking great. Either go with it because you love it and sod the next owners - we can all think like that al the time and only ever live in bland magnolia white homes or play a bit safer and go for a trad butler sink instead and buy funky accessories that you can take when you move.

fisil · 17/03/2004 08:53

CD, I love it. I tell you what, buy it, see how it goes, and if you go off it, I'll have it.

BTW, have you asked dh about this one, or is your relationship with mn now more dominant?

CountessDracula · 17/03/2004 09:25

Oh yes Fisil, dh is involved in EVERY design decision! He is very into it. He loves the sink, think we will go for it

We did see these unbelievably weird ones too!! Now what do you think of those?

bugger to clean - don't do it. Get ceramic one.

CountessDracula · 17/03/2004 12:23

AHA! Where have you been Willow2?

Apparantly ceramic bugger to clean too.

OP posts:
katierocket · 17/03/2004 12:29

Like it. Quick wipe of Baby oil best thing for putting shine back on stainless steel after you've cleaned it.

bettys · 17/03/2004 12:36

I have ceramic double sink. Not a bugger to clean at all.
Especially if the cleaner does it.

bundle · 17/03/2004 12:36

hear hear bettys. thank god for cleaners.

CountessDracula · 17/03/2004 12:37

Really? Why do so many people say they are?

Wanted something a bit different, though ceramic would look nice too I'm sure, was thinking of that before I saw this one.c

I've got a ceramic butlers sink - no problem to keep clean.
Beware though a friend (who LONGED for a sink justthat little bit different!) had one made out of black granite - like a continuation of her work top - cost lots of ££££ AND black granite and hard water don't go unless you want either a white powdery "finish" to your sink OR clean the sink 5 times a day..
Let us know what you decide CD
