My dd has asked for a pair of those trainers which convert to skates where the wheels are concealed in the heels. Used to see them alot last summer but haven't seen them anywhere lately. Does anyone know where I can get a pair or even what they are called so that I can phone round shops and enquire? Dds b'day is on 27th so I would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

think I've seen them in a catalogue this year, can't remember which though...

Try argos, argos additions, Grattan, or Index etc
Sorry I can't be more help.

chocbox · 16/03/2004 19:25

Thanks smellymelly - have tried Argos but no luck. Will try to get hold of some catalogues.

I'm a little annoyed I can't remember where I saw them, they actually too up a whole page in the catalogue.
I have checked Index and argos additions, Lx Direct for you....No luck there either.

Come on everyone, someone must know where you can still get them

chocbox · 16/03/2004 20:01

oh bless you smellymelly - thanks for trying. I usually always know where to go to get things and it's bugging me that I'm at a total loss here. I've tried Toys R Us who usually have most stuff and they don't have them either.

Stepdaughter got hers in Claire's Accessories. Be warned - they broke after a couple of months, as it was quite hard to pull out the wheels, and a hinge snapped off!!!

chocbox · 16/03/2004 20:17

I'll give them a call in the morning. At the rate dd's feet are growing, they won't fit her in a couple of months!

Oooh, is this them?!

smellymelly · 16/03/2004 20:26

well done lou33 -
yeah that's them but they're huge and not very girly.

how old is your DD, I've seen some great barbie in-line skates in argos or index, is she old enough to want to be 'in'?? As you said these were in last summer, maybe she can choose some herself?

lou33 · 16/03/2004 20:27

I think they have sold other sizes tho.

chocbox · 16/03/2004 21:05

yesss! That's them. My dd will be 13 so is a big girl and has passed the girly stage but the one's on e-bay were size 8 and she is now size 4. Thanks lou and melly; will do some more searching on e-bay; at least now I know what they're called!

hi chocbox,

I was browsing on ebay and have found some under girls shoes.

I dont know how to do links so here are the item codes......

3468129128
3468129786
3468044201

Just go to www.ebay.co.uk
Then go to search and you can put the item no in the relevant box one at a time...

Goodluck

smellymelly · 21/03/2004 18:45

did you manage to get them???

chocbox · 25/03/2004 11:09

Hi Melly - dd wasn't sure about the ones on e-bay so we said we'd wait till the summer to see if the shops get them in again this year. Thanks for all your help

I got a pair of these for me(!!!!) to zoom home from nursery and they are blinking dangerous, you cant stop the way you can with roller skates/blades and I could only wear them as skates if I was pushing the babys buggy for support. Even them i hit a few hedges, so be careful when you buying them, make sure your dd can stop in them or they are like death traps.

smellymelly · 25/03/2004 11:43

LOL Charliecat, I have a fabulous vision of you trying to skate with a pushchair.... How old are you ????

charliecat · 25/03/2004 11:49

coughcough I did skate...I zoomed home, it just wasnt very safe as I couldnt stop!
