Question about toddler shoes...

...what do you do about that awkward stage when little soft leather bootees aren't really tough enough but feet are too small for actual shoes?

clarks' 'crawlers' are fab. not sure what size they start at, tho.

MerlinsBeard · 14/08/2006 18:14

crawlers are FAB! we had these for ds2, his forst shoes were 2.5, don't think tehy make crawlers much smaller than a 2/2.5 tbh

hana · 14/08/2006 18:14

they are better off without any tougher soled shoes at this age though - much better for their soft bones

TooTicky · 14/08/2006 18:15

Clarks told me crawlers are not suitable for walking in (!) and my dd2's feet are too small for the next stage.

Dd had some called cruisers which were designed to bridge the gap. They make them fairly small, got hers from clarks. HTH

I know they are better off without proper shoes, but I worry about sharp stones or worse when we're out.

dd1 wore shoo-shoos , crawlers and cruisers. aren't shoo-shoos- type bootees adequate during summer? then by autumn, her feet might've grown!

MerlinsBeard · 14/08/2006 18:59

cruisers are the next ones up from cralwers. for when they are starting to cruise but are still predominantly crawling.

julienetmum · 14/08/2006 21:32

Crawlers are fine for walking in. They were the only shoes that would fit ds for quite some time. Eventually he grew into the cruisers but he must have been in the crawlers about 4 months after he started to walk.

He is aged 2 and a half now and still only a size 5.

And now a different Clarks shop has sold us some Crawlers. The difference in selling principles, not to mention measuring, is just a little worrying I think... oh, and we bought boys' ones as the girls' ones were too flimsy looking...
