DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MAMAS & PAPAS THEY ARE CRAP!!!!!!

Am on second Ziko pushchair and they are super crap - and am sick of them fobbing me off with oh we'll fix it when I have lost all faith in the bloody thing and basically all of their products!!

First one I had less than 3 months before it broke and now this one I have had for 6 weeks and it is falling apart!!!!!!

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

Sorry to rant but been on the phone for 45 minutes to be told that these pushchairs have never been a problem and everyone who bought one is completely happy and so it must be the way I am using them.

What utter crap customer service and guarantee they have - basically they are going to fix what is wrong after charging me £25 quid to have it sent back to them and its their call whether I have damaged the pushchair and whether I have to pay for the repairs!!

I've only had since the 26th June!!!!

Oh dear-and there was me about to swap my XT for one.......maybe not now.

I had a sinle aria that was shite and then someone kindly gave me a twin aria when second daughter came in feb, this was mega shite!!
Both were crap to fold and plasticy.
In the end I saved up and bought a phil and teds, cos I believe M&P pushcairs arent that good in my experience, anyway.

I love my Alfie Ziko

vickiyumyum · 14/08/2006 17:38

i have a ziko alfie that is fab (fingers crossed not ha dit long) BUT i have a m&p 3in1 that is appaling the footrest on the seat unit keeps falling down and lucykeeps sliding down, its dangerous! i am in the process of going through trading standards to get a replacement.

tassis · 14/08/2006 17:47

My M&P 3 in 1 has been absolutely fantastic and was in nearly daily use for about 2.5 years.

Still looking great for number 2 (well hopefully it does, I really must get it out of the attic and check!)

I have heard that their customer service is terrible which did surprise me but friends had a nightmare with a nursery furniture order.

Twinkie1 · 14/08/2006 19:16

I hate them - really thuoght about printing off some leaflets and standing outside telling people not to buy their stuff I am sooo cross!!

I can vouch for M & P cr*p customer service - unfortunately I had already bought mine when I heard someone trying to take back a pushchair less than 3 months old and the staff were trying their hardest to tell the woman that it was effectively worn out ie used too much - she hardly looked like a jogger, without meaning offence, and it was the new style then so how could it have been worn out in 3 months??!!

I had one of their rocker toys (the rocking hippo) and the wooden dowel split - as it was just outside warranty, I asked how much the replacement bit would be (it's basically a piece of dowelling with 2 screw holes, but it's nicely polished so I thought I wouldn't mind paying a fiver or so to keep the £50 toy in good nick) - they told me I would have to buy a replacement toy as they could not supply one - how hard would it be to get one from the factory - they must have hundreds sitting there as all the toys have the same rocker??!!

I found my Pliko irritatingly plasticky, and the handles feel "wobbly" - wish I'd just bought a cheap Mothercare/Graco one and saved the cash (they tested one of those against a Bugaboo on some BBC programme and the couple liked it better!). The Pliko is so hard to push with a toddler - it doesn't manoeuvre well - since she was 1 I've just used my Maclaren Volo.

cyan · 16/08/2006 09:23

oh i was thinking of getting a ziko glad i read this now! sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble with m and p

Clary · 16/08/2006 09:33

everything I bought from M&P (high chair, splash mat, wallpaper(!), toy that stuck on high chair, only it didn't) was in some way badly designed or generally crap.

That was all years ago so I wouldn't darken their doors again.

However plenty of people are very happy with their stuff, obviously....

Coolmama · 16/08/2006 17:35

Long story which I won't bore you with, but M&P are fekking awful!!!! - there is pretty much nothing that would induce me to go there again. Customer service, Build and Deliver team - all crap, crap, crap!
