Highchair for narrow kitchen

We are having a problem finding a highchair that has legs that don't "splay out" very far iykwim.
The cube types have about the right size base but I am not sure if they would be that great for ds as he is about 23lbs already . I wonder if it would be difficult to get him in and out when he is older.
Our kitchen is long and narrow and he is a nightmare to feed on my lap but I haven't seen one that fits our requirements yet.
Anyone solved a similar problem?

I got a plastic highchair from Toys R Us which ties safely on to a normal dining chair. So it takes up no extra space, and it has lasted my DD until now, not because she is too big for it, but because she doesn't want to sit in it anymore. I've also seen one in John Lewis which attaches to the table - might also be worth a look?

Thanks meanbean for your reply
I have thought of using something like that , our dining table is in the living room . So we are also looking for a freestanding highchair for the kitchen.

Try Triptrap highchairs as they push right in to the table and can be used later as the child grows.....I went to 'Search' on MN and then put in highchair and the info came up. HTH

I got the cube type one from John Lewis (converts into a mini-table and chair later on) and I get ds - 2 1/2 and decidedly chubby - into it pretty easily.

Aloha , I think the cube is our best option ,It is good to hear your ds still fits in one ok. Right I am off to surf for one.
