Just wondered what you thought of them really ?

Am going to see one tonight and really really want it - but just wondered if anyone had one and had gripes with it ?

The one I'm seeing is a 2.0 litre petrol engine.

Thanks !

What not even a "I think they look stupid" comment ?? My bf said they look like jelly-moulds and dh thinks in red they look like Noddy's car !

I like them - do you ?

I love all volkswagens, and if i were to buy a new car then yes they would be top of my list!

Thank you - I thought either no one was talking to me - or I had terrible taste in cars !!!

I love the new VW Beetles and think that red is the best colour. They seem to hold their price as well.

Volkswagens do hold their prices quite well, good condition mk1 golfs which are about 15 years old still can fetch a couple of grand

I think they are gorgeous

How big is the boot though?

Norah · 14/08/2006 13:27

Boot isn't great - don't think you'd get a pushcahir in it - but as my dd is almost 6 I am past all that ! Current car is a Mk 2 Golf Cabriolet and I had to choose my pushchairs very carefully to make sure they'd fit through the post-box style boot opening ! Beetle's is smaller though and more rounded at ends - so very tricky I think !

(Agree about value holding - mine is 8 yrs old and worth £6K - Beetle I am looking at is top of range - would have been £21K new - priced at £13.5K - and low low mileage - so sounds great !)

Oh forgot to say - Beetle is 2 yrs old.
