Light fixture for toddler's room?

Does anyone have any suggestions where to find a cute/interesting/colourful light fixture for my toddler's room? We want something that is a bit more interesting that just a Tweenies or Winnie the Pooh light shade. It doesn't have to be specifically 'for kids', even just something bright and colourful would do ... but we haven't been able to find anything. (This is for a ceiling light fixture.)

We got what we thinks is a nice light fitting from John Lewis in Bluewater, It is of a colourful TUCAN BIRD made from coloured wood. They had other lovely designs too, airplanes, helicopter, elephants etc... friends have often commented on it. I know John Lewis also have a website, don't know if lighting is coivered on it though...

My son has a dark green uplighter in his room with gold moons, stars, suns and planets on it which the light shines underneath. I got it from FADS but that was a couple of years ago.

I agree. John Lewis has a really good range. DS has a lovely dolphin, it wasn't very expensive.

Both my kids just have a painted light globe in their rooms. A friend of mine makes them. They are bright and put splodges of colour over the walls and ceiling. They love them! Dd's is pink with orange and ds's is blue and yellow. They do look good and change the whole appearance of the room at night. You might find them at the markets or something...

We've got one from Homebase which is a cone shape, made of cloth, which hangs upside down, with a tassle hanging off the bottom (very bad description I know, but I hope you get the picture). It's a very bright sunny yellow - & is really cheerful.

I also remenber seeing one in there which was a paper one, shaped like a hot air balloon with a basket hanging off the bottom - which looked fun.

I know you were looking for a ceiling light fixture so this probably won't help - but we bought an adorable moon light from Ikea for our baby's room. It plugs into a wall socket and then is fixed onto the wall (not sure about the trailing flex as he gets older though) but I love it when the rest of the room is dark. We also have a yellow cone thing(!) in the centre light and that is great and bright.

B & Q Warehouse if you've got one nearby.

I would second Debby's suggestion of the cone shaped one from Homebase. We got one for DS's blue and yellow room (complete with rainbow and clouds mural) and he enjoys being held so he can stroke the tassle!! Also I think they did come in other colours besides yellow.
