Lindam Door Bouncer - does it fit wide door frame?

I bought one today, a chad valley one as was going past an Argos and it's all they had and it won't fit over our door frame. The jaws don't open wide enough so to speak.

Wondered if anyone had the Lindam one and if it opened wider?

How wide do you need it to open? I'lL try it for you.

My door has a kind of shelf on both sides (in an old style house, like where plates would have been displayed all round the room) and it comes quite far out..

It fits ours and I've got the widest door frame I've ever seen!

About 10 inches???
