What mattress do I want

Dp likes a firm mattress whereas I like something softer?

I do suffer from back problems, do I need an orthapedic mattress? Are they all not ultra firm?

I have new ultra firm back support mattress from here John lewis bought in their sale and it has changed my life. No more getting up with aching back, no more bouncing around when dh rolls over and much nicer for you know what. It is even better cos we have had it since july 3 and have yet to even recieve a bill for it. We didn't pay thismcu hfor it tho'; got it in the sale.. they do special purchase ones.

expatinscotland · 08/08/2006 00:14

Ninah, were you here for all those threads? 'Do you have a conservatory, orchard, etc., and the classic, 'Do you have a crappy terrace with a yard? I'd LOVE a crappy terrace with a yard.'

ninah · 08/08/2006 00:18

no, I wasn't.
I'd LOOOVE a yard tho. I'm still kind of in transit. The best thing is a home with the right values (not £ values)
Cake, cake gimme CAKE!

I have just discovered that Sally Gunell makes matresses - all sorts of bizaree images are in my head now.

twinsetandpearls · 08/08/2006 00:38

I could do with a mistress but we would need a new matress first!

OP posts:
ninah · 08/08/2006 00:41

twinsetandpearls · 08/08/2006 09:57

Can I just say that before Ninah dragged this thread through the gutter this was a serious request for help buying a mattress. Any suggestions welcomed especially as I have had another uncomfortable night and a bad back again this morning.

OP posts:
robinpud · 08/08/2006 17:00

I said it last night; it was dull and not at all witty, but the john lewis one is the dog's bs of mattresses.

melrose · 08/08/2006 17:02

We have just bough a fab new mattress from Dreams, it si pocket sprung with a layer of memory foam on top and is the most blissfully comfortable thing I have ever laid on. recommend dreams, huge selcetion, and 9 months interest free credit. Take your time and lie on lots to get it right!

Bagpuss30 · 08/08/2006 17:04

Agree with John Lewis but get their Impressions one (a rip off tempur). Your back will thank you for it.

twinsetandpearls · 09/08/2006 00:39

Will check those out.

Dp is on another one of his diversions. We have the hopen range of furniture from IKEA and hew now wants to get the matching bed, but do they not only take IKEA matresses which are not that good.

An impressions King size mattress is £650
