...label everything?

if so, where to get labels.

also will she need those black school pumps?

and do I go for velcro closing shoes or buckles (she can't do either yet!)

Label everything unless you never want to see her clothes again.

I use cash tapes which my mum got me - but it's a pain sewing them on. Laundry marker pen is the quickest, but can affect Ebay prices!

Also laundry marker clothes do not get stolen as much as you can't just cut off the name label.

right - better sort clothes out into home clothes and nursery stuff then. seen some of the nursery children in school sweaters but noones told me how to order, so not sure whether these are optional but hoping they are available.

I wanted to ask this question too! DD's nursery has sent us some intro stuff and it states quite clearly that all clothes/belongings must be named with name tapes! I just thought "sod that", I'll use my trusty laundry pen but now I'm wondering if they really mean tapes????? I have no intention of sewing anything on so should I just risk using my pen and pretend I thought that's what they meant?

at least you've had a letter. the only contact i've had is yes she has a place and the nursery teacher will visit in september (less than 5days before she starts!)

i think there's iron on ones somewhere on the net and shoe ones too but i'll proqbably be doing the pen too -never quite that organised or maybe grandma needs to visit with a needle and thread!!

Suddenly September seems so near
I'll check that other thread about iron on tapes now...

lexiemum - is this a nursery in a school? DS1 has just left one and DS2 starts in September. I only named his coat, hat and gloves, his shoes and his jumper. They didn't seem to take anything else off and he certainly never had to have PE pumps.
ou can get labels from easy2name - think there is a link on MN shopping bit and MN get a bit of money of something.

DD1 been at school nursery since January and I never labelled anything. Any accidents at the toilet were bagged and sent home with her - she got spare clothes given which i then washed and took back a day or two later.

yep it is a state nursery. maybe i just need to do the coat, cardis and shoes. which of course would be alot easier.

it's jsut annoying me somewhat that there has been very little communication with the nursery and I do like to plan!

the nursery teacher is visiting us on the 11th of sept and I think dd will be able to go from about the 13th - so not much time to do labelling etc if required and of course, I'll be working as well - can't really leave all this to the childminder can I.

At the nursery my youngest will go to in september, we have a letter to say they've got a place.
Then later on you get a letter to to invite you for a meeting at the nursery, which is in the school grounds.
At the meeting you're told what will happen while they're at nursery and who there teacher will be.
Then you get to go with your child so that you can spend time together playing in nursery for an hour.
We also get a home visit.

Our nursery allows children to wear home clothes or uniform, but they do encourage the uniform.

You don't need P.E. pumps, but you have to label anything that the child might remove while there.

Laundry marker or name tags, so long as it has there name in somewhere.

I have iron on name tapes, that I write names on with permanent marker pen. No way am I sewing for my twins that are starting in september
